Holistic Practitioners Discussion Forum

May 14, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Anxiety and Depression Through the Lens of Chinese Herbal Medicine

This monthly group is open to any holistic health practitioner who wants to talk with practitioners in their own and other modalities. The purposes are: skill-building, sharing information and experiences, and discovering methods to develop ourselves and support each other.

Melanie St. Ours will share approaches to anxiety and depression as seen through the lens of Chinese Herbal Medicine.  She will describe common patterns that give rise to the symptoms that we associate with anxiety and depression, representative herbal formulas commonly seen in practice, and key points for physical assessment and differential diagnosis.  The group discussion will be on how members use herbal approaches and on how herbal approaches might complement the work of practitioners in other modalities and how work in other modalities might complement herb use.  Melanie is a graduate of the East West School of Herbology, The Baltimore School of Massage, and New York University and has completed additional herbal training at Longhua Hospital and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is the founder of Psyche & Soma LLC, the home of her private herbal practice since 2012, and her writing has been published in the Journal of the American Herbalist’s Guild, Mind Body Green, and Elephant Journal.

The cost is $5.00 to cover expenses. Please RSVP to Paula Derry: paula.derry@gmail.com · 443-610-9881
