Restorative herbals
tending to the roots of health, your innate body-mind wisdom

How do herbs work to enhance health?
The chemical make-up of each herb gives it an affinity to certain types of tissues and/or an ability to shift the way that communication takes place between cells. In this way herbs nourish, soothe, tone and repair specific tissues, and foster balanced communication between nerve, endocrine, and/or immune cells.

Herbs can gently re-establish healthy function across daily, seasonal, and lifespan cycles, reminding the body of its natural order, integrity and harmony. Herbs tend to the roots of health, a body-mind wisdom that is hard-wired. This approach can complement conventional medical care.

Why see an herbalist? What kinds of issues can I get help with?

Use herbs that are formulated and dosed to your individual needs: no cookie cutter solutions. You have a particular health history, constitution, set of goals, and lifestyle and budgetary needs. A selection of teas, tinctures, powders, capsules, and/or topical preparations is matched to those needs, then fine-tuned to your responses.

Learn how to manage and enhance your own health by incorporating herbs safely and appropriately into your life: help your body adapt to many kinds of internal and environmental stressors. You learn the value of getting to the root of your symptoms, rather than suppressing them. Over time you learn to observe your own symptom patterns, your responses to the environment and to your own choices. You learn to use this knowledge to enhance function for your own greater health.

Take advantage of seasonal wisdom. Your immune system follows a seasonal cycle through the year. Your endocrine system follows seasons of life. Learn practical steps to live in harmony with these cycles.

Learn to make your way through the confusion of the marketplace. You can become a wise consumer, and clear a path through marketing hype and media reporting on current scientific research.

Be heard and unrushed. Here the time and place are yours: to come to complete rest, to be tended with complete attention, to fully explore your health and life concerns and clarify your goals.
