Wellness at Ruscombe

    An integrative approach to health care is provided at the Ruscombe Mansion Community Health Center by over two dozen certified, licensed holistic professionals in private practice. Ruscombe is the oldest, free-standing center of its kind and size in North America, and our goal is to address the unique needs of each individual by focusing on the whole person, not simply the physical malady or symptom of disease. When working with an adult or child, all aspects of the person - the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual - are considered for the achievement and maintenance of optimal health. Specializing in preventive medicine and health maintenance, as well as caring for the acute and chronically ill, practitioners at Ruscombe combine ancient and modern diagnostic and therapeutic systems to support the natural healing process within the individual. Emphasis is always on the use of non-toxic and non-invasive procedures.

The Ruscombe Mansion Community Health Center

     The Ruscombe Mansion Community Health Center is centered on one acre of the original estate of the Tyson family, Baltimore’s Quaker patrons. Housed in two turn-of-the-century mansions named by their original owners after William Penn’s final home in England, “Ruscombe” means “enclosed field”, which describes where Ruscombe is today, a surprise oasis tucked inside the Coldspring NewTown community, an established professional neighborhood. Conveniently located off Interstate 83 just five miles north of downtown Baltimore, the Ruscombe Mansion Community Health Center was founded on this property in 1984 by Executive Director Zohara Meyerhoff Hieronimus.

      It is our mission to provide a peaceful, comfortable setting to offer professional, complementary medical options to the general public. The Ruscombe Mansion Community Health Center is a multi-purpose neighborhood community center featuring programs in holistic healing, education and inspirational guidance. Our purpose is to educate and enhance community and individual wellness through educational programs and the holistic healing arts. Because of the long history of healing service on this property, we believe we are honored and blessed here by a special "conditioned field" for healing.
