Stacey is a Board-certified Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Diplomate of Acupuncture. She is licensed by the Naturopathic Board of Medical Examiners and the Maryland Board of Acupuncture. After graduating from Hampshire College, with a B.A. in psychology and women’s studies, she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Master’s in TCM Acupuncture degrees from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona in 1996 and 1997, respectively. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Maryland Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the NCCAOM.
Dr. Kargman was in private practice in Tucson, Arizona from 1997-2000, then she moved back to the east coast and began her practice in Baltimore. In April 2001, she took over the Maryland Natural Health Center in Owings Mills, MD and began working at Acupuncture Associates of Annapolis.
Aside from her private practice in Tucson, Dr. Kargman worked with the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation as their Complementary Medicine Physician, working with patients and their primary-care physicians in helping patients improve their health and quality of life while being HIV+. As well, she also worked with the Tucson Rape Crisis Center as a Forensic Examiner providing exams and support for people after they had been raped or sexually assaulted.
In her current practice, Dr. Kargman treats a wide variety of clients of all ages for both acute and chronic conditions. Her primary modalities include acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional and lifestyle counseling, homeopathy, and craniosacral therapy. Her specialties include women’s health, hormonal balancing, gastrointestinal disorders, allergy testing and elimination, endocrine imbalances, mood disorders including chronic anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and addictions and management of chronic migraine headaches.
Dr. Kargman enjoys working in collaboration with other healthcare providers in order to provide the best and most comprehensive care for her patients. Currently, Dr. Kargman sees patients at her office, The Maryland Natural Health Center (Owings Mills), at Ruscombe Mansion (Baltimore City), and the Kolmac Clinic at Sheppard Pratt (Towson). As well, she works in collaboration with the Mid-Atlantic Headache Institute in Pikesville- a group of practitioners treating people who suffer from chronic headaches and migraines.
In addition to her practice, Dr. Kargman is a faculty member at the University of Maryland -UMBC- teaching classes in Women’s Health.
Visits are by appointment only, unless dropping in to purchase items from the dispensary. Typically, initial appointments last an hour, during which Dr. Kargman takes a full history and makes an initial plan for treatment. Follow-up visits can last from a half-hour to an hour, depending on the type of treatment. Below is a brief schedule of costs for visits–additional costs may include longer visits, additional services, lab work ordered or supplements purchased:
– Initial Visit, $220
– Follow-up (½ hour – 1 hour), $80-$150
– Acupuncture, $80-$90
For those patients who need it, phone consults/ appointments are available. They are scheduled as regular appointments and billed as such. Supplements can be shipped for those who live a distance away. Payment for visits and supplements can be in the form of cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover. Currently, Dr. Kargman sees patients at Maryland Natural Health Center (Owings Mills) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As well appointments can be made to see her on Mondays at Ruscombe Mansion (Mt. Washington, Baltimore).
All fees for service are paid in full at the time of each visit, and clients can then submit claim forms to their insurance companies for reimbursement if they wish. A variety of insurance companies such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield often reimburse patients for a portion of their visit. Please check with your insurance company about their coverage for acupuncturists.
