Dr. Benjamin Israel is delighted to be joining the Ruscombe healing community. In his private practice, he works as a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and consultant in difficult-to-treat cases and in the trauma disorders field. He also works as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of medicine, where he is a member of the Consultation-Liaison Division in the Department of Psychiatry.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Israel has had the opportunity to teach and supervise psychiatry and psychotherapy trainees at all levels. He has presented to professional audiences locally, nationally, and internationally on the diagnosis and treatment of complex posttraumatic syndromes.
Dr. Israel graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed residency training at the University of Maryland / Sheppard Pratt combined residency program in Baltimore. His psychotherapy practice is grounded in psychodynamic principles and technique. He is board certified in adult psychiatry.
