Diana Keener

Diana Keener, M.Ac., L.Ac. 410-542-4088

Diana’s eclectic life experiences have been motivated from the beginning by a deep curiosity to discover or uncover what is true and what is real.
In her youth she was a gymnast, performed in a circus, studied dance and practiced yoga and mind training fundamentals. She has traveled extensively in the South Pacific, Asia, the Caribbean and in the West. Diana’s early academic experience focused on the study of language, symbolism and culture, which led to an early career in the arts. She then worked on sailboats, including some lengthy transoceanic crossings, and later became part of a care-giving team at the Zen Hospice Project during the AIDS epidemic in San Francisco, CA. More recently, Diana completed training as a Death Doula with Alua Arthur’s program Going With Grace.

Diana has been a student and practitioner of Acupuncture at Ruscombe Community Health Center for more than twenty years. She has also provided Acupuncture services to clients at Healthcare for the Homeless and at the Baltimore City Jail. During her training she realized that there was something missing in the syllabus and went in search of the kind of genuine cultivation that can actually potentiate the movements of Qi in the practice of Chinese Medicine. She studied Qi Gong, Nei Gong and Tai Qi for many years with Master Zhongxian Wu and since 2014 has been a student of Damo Mitchell. In 2017, Diana was awarded the certificate to teach Qi Gong from Damo Mitchell’s Lotus Nei Gong School. In addition to the physical and mental training, Diana is particularly interested in the personal cultivation of ethics that is emphasized in the Daoist tradition. She is committed to a rigorous practice of self-examination infused with a healthy dose of humor.

Diana loves to kayak to deserted islands and camp with her husband of 29 years. She is also an avid reader and gardener and studies Natural Building techniques with Sigi Koko.
